On 14 December 2006, in the city of Barranquilla, a communiqu? was left at
the residence of Euripides Yance, a Coca-Cola worker and member of the
National Committee of SINALTRAINAL. The communiqu? is entitled BLACK EAGLES
[AGUILAS NEGRAS] and threatens various student, social and trade union
leaders, giving them a week to leave the city. Amongst them are members and
leaders of SINALTRAINAL and workers at Coca-Cola EURIPIDES YANCE, LIMBERTO
CARRANZA, and CAMPO QUINTERO.

On the evening of November 19, 2006, the journalist FREDY MU?OZ ALTAMIRANDA,
correspondent in Colombia for Canal TELESUR, was detained by agents from the
Administrative Department of Security (DAS), when he returned to Colombia
after having participated in a TELESUR audiovisual narrative workshop that
took place in the neighboring country of Venezuela. By order of the Fifth
District Attorney?s Office in Barranquilla, FREDY was detained and charged
with rebellion.

The Barrancabermeja Committee of the Colombian Trade Union Federation (CUT) rejects the vile assassination of one of our comrades JORGE GUILLEN LEAL, 33 years old, that took place on 23 July at 2.30 pm in the barrio Covida in the municipality of Barrancabemeja. The murder was carried out by two individuals who arrived at his house in a taxi and then shot him. His wife was at home at the time with one of his two children who was doing his school homework. Jorge was the father of two young children, a girl and a boy of 10 and 5 years old.
